Some users may have experienced problems with RaceRender's YouTube uploader over the past several months, where it just wont accept your correct user name (or e-mail address) and password, no matter what you do. If this happened to you, you probably also received an e-mail from Google with the subject "Sign-in attempt prevented", saying that it had blocked access to an app.

This is because our existing YouTube uploader was built with an older, but very common at the time, YouTube authentication method. Google has since changed things around quite a bit, and has somewhat recently started blocking the older method by default, claiming that it is less secure. Your credentials are still sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection, but they have a new preferred way of doing things these days, and are making a push to have everything be updated to that. I expect that we'll rebuild our uploader to accommodate that at some point (only to have this happen again when they come up with something even newer), however for the time being, development time is being allocated to bigger priorities so that we can bring you new features and more capabilities.

In the meantime, you can get RaceRender's existing YouTube uploader to work again by going into your Google account and setting the "Access for less secure apps" option to "On". If your browser is already signed into your Google account, then this link should take you directly there: https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps . If you are unsure or uncomfortable of the implications of doing this, you can always opt to render your RaceRender project into a video file as normal, and then upload that file to YouTube yourself using your web browser. Our integrated YouTube uploader is simply a convenience feature.

If you are not finding the YouTube uploader feature in RaceRender, please update to version 3.3.9 (released May 12, 2016) or newer, and then it will be available from both the "File" menu, and the "Create Video" screen. That version will also offer you similar guidance on this issue if encountering a login problem.
