Staged Upshifts for Older 6L80E Vehicles

I'm 95% certain that I already know the answer to this ("no"), but has there been any advancement in the ability to apply the staged upshifting capabilities that were found in 2012+ corvettes to older 6L80E transmission vehicles? I first read about it about four or five years ago, and it sounded like there are no hardware changes, and the tuning simply controlled a variable bleed solenoid to start the clutch fill. However, I haven't found anything online suggesting that someone has been able to retrofit an older 6L80E vehicle with this capability. As noted, I'm fairly sure that it's not possible for one reason or another, but I'd love to hear to the contrary.
