2017 RAM 1500 5.7 issue

Hello Everyone,

I am tuning an neighbor's truck. its a 2017 Ram 1500 5.7
They sent the PCM off to another vendor for unlock service. the service clearly states they offers PCM unlocking for HPT usage.

I did a vehicle read and once i open the read file it wants me to license it.
I proceed and did the I agree disclaimer.

now when i proceed to write the MDS disable change its telling me i need to license the vehicle.
Best i can tell is the PCM is licensed but the TCM is not. I assumed i only needed to license the PCM.

do i need to do a PCM only read? or remove the TCM controller from the first read?

Im new to turning these 2015+ rams and never had to deal with this before. some help would be appreciated. Only touching MDS so assume PCM is only one needed? or do i need 2 credits for each? 4 total for that vehicle?

Naw, you only needed 2 credits to write to that pcm

You will need 4 more if you want to write to the trans

You might want to post this in the proper sub forum. The HPT crew is not in this one very often

Thanks I got my answer in that other sub forum. I had already proceeded with doing pcm only read so I wrote only pcm it seemed to work as it should.
