Thread: Pro interface wont read or write Access denied on vehicles I've already tuned.

Pro interface wont read or write Access denied on vehicles I've already tuned.

Having an issue with my interface reading and writing to vehicles, Customer brought in a 2004 silverado in for a calibration and I managed to read it once and write to it once, during that time period the battery went dead in a matter of seconds. (aux lights on vehicle drained the battery quickly)

Ever since then, my interface has been getting "access denied exceeded number of attempts" message while trying to read or write on that same vehicle.

Fresh battery, Removed radio fuse, anything that needed to be off was disconnected (electronics etc)

The problem is that I'm getting this error message on other vehicles now. Rendering my Interface useless.

I CAN however, Datalog perfectly fine.

is there like a soft reset I could do on my interface or something I can try?

did last night, as of now I am waiting on a response.

    I have new findings however.

i can pull and write to e38 just fine, same goes for my 02 Fbody.

it appears the issue is only with 04-06 trucks,

my 06 truck will read and write ridiculously slow.

Strange, is the 06 truck CAN based and the others aren't?

Sounds like you have vehicle related issues, ie its not a hardware/software issue on our end.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

06 trucks have a P59 ecm, so VPW. Just like the 02 Fbody.

Not an issue on our end, likely a ecm or wiring issue.

I had a similar strange issue with my interface where several months ago it would intermittently not read or scan certain vehicles. Further investigation showed all the vehicles I had problems with were CAN bus vehicles while any non CAN vehicles were fine. I found an intermittent short on pin 6 (CAN High) on the OBD 2 side of the cable. I replaced the OBD 2 cable between the interface and the vehicle and the problem is gone.

Maybe someone near you has a cable or interface you can try, just to eliminate your cable / interface.
