    Videos overlay and ghost rider

I would like to overlay two videos to see the difference of lines and speed between two riders (it could be an interesting teaching tool).
Is it something that can be implemented?

Yes, we recently made some adjustments to RaceRender (3.4.1 and 3.4.3, in particular) to accommodate this same kind of thing (overlaying two runs on the same track map), which you may even see on TV later this year.

I wrote up a step-by-step guide on how to do it here: http://RaceRender.com/RR3/docs/HowTo-TwoVehicleMap.html

In a nutshell, you set up a normal project, then duplicate the track map display and set that one to use a secondary input file (which contains the run/lap you want to overlay), align it on top of the first map, then un-check its "Draw Map" option so that it only displays the vehicle position, and finally synchronize it so that the start of its desired lap/run matches that of the primary input's lap/run that you want it to compare to.

The new Data Sync Wizard in RaceRender 3.4.1 and newer helps make this synchronization simpler, and changes to the "Color Progress" option in newer versions are helpful for plotting the driving line progress up to the current point. This works really well and pretty easily for autocross, drag, rally, and other segments. For circuit laps, you'll just need to be sure you get the right laps aligned to each other, and then the display would of course only be valid for that selected lap. Also, if you go with a really big map, there is now an "Extreme" resolution option that will help with quality at those larger sizes. If you make any changes, other than coloring, to one track map display, make sure you make the same changes to the other so that the alignment remains intact.

This is an old thread, but related question: On the track map there is an option for ghost time trials which puts a separate lap/car/arrow on the mini map along with the current lap. What time does the ghost use? It looks like it's the previous lap, but it also could be the best lap. Any insight?
