tune with headers and cats removed?

    Hi

I am installing headers and probably removing cats as well on a 2015 Silverado 5.3L

Should I disable ALL dtc's related to bank 1 and 2 sensor 2 ? can I completely remove these sensors?

    cot disable as well?

Anything else that I need to do, before driving away and FUBAR'ing the whole show?

    thx

    Kill Post O2 DTC's - Yes
Remove O2's - might run into trouble on the gen 5's? They don't always like sensors - in general - being gone - rear O2's usually OK...
    COT disable - yes
Engine Diag - Exhaust - Take care of those too...

Sounds like You and Your Son are having fun on that truck

I'd leave the sensors plugged in and just zip tie them to the frame.

    Just to avoid possible issues.

    would
Engine-exhust- catalyst-general need to be changed to reflect failure values? Should these values be high or low?

    Min is 63 degrees
Max is 109 degrees currently would this screw up the tune?

those arent failure values. just hover over the tables to get a description of what they are. it just wont go into cat warmup on cold starts if you change these accordingly, which is fine since you dont have any. at least im assuming you dont since you revisited this 4 year old post lol

FWIW, at least o 2018 truck, if the rear O2s are not plugged in, your fuel system readiness will not set, even if all the DTCs are turned off.

Chased my tail for months with that.

I've got my rear o2's plugged in and have been waiting on the EVAP readiness to set for 3 weeks now. Pain in the butt.

bit of a dumb moment here but my bank 2 sensor 2 has had a wiring issue I have rewired it 2 or 3 times now because the original clip that held the wires together was caked in mud and had to cut it off. crying shame. from there it was a guessing game as to how they are wired. I think it is wired correctly just so the computer reads that they are there even if it fails or is bad or whatever.
i have reset these values to fail the CAT's

there is a full thread on my page going over what i have done to my nightmare of a franken truck. hahaha. Anyone who can help me tune this truck is a saint.
this is a gen V btw so all threads and anything is difficult to find information.
