Can you tell specify which types of files and how they were recorded?

Typically, you can transfer data from an Android phone to a computer by connecting it via a USB cable, putting the phone's USB mode into "MTP" / File Transfer mode, and then using Windows File Explorer (or Android File Transfer, if on Mac) to access the phone's External & SD Card file systems.

If you're working with files recorded by our TrackAddict app, they should be in the Android/data/com.hptuners.trackaddict/files folder, and in most cases will be no more than 4 GB each (this is an Android system limitation). In that case, an often easier option is to use the WiFi Transfer feature (open the session -> Share -> WiFi Transfer) to send them to a computer running RaceRender (use the "TrackAddict Xfer" button on the New Project menu, or select the "Receive Files Over Network" option from the File menu).

Here are some more details and troubleshooting info for the Android USB file transfer method:

To enter "MTP" / File Transfer mode, you usually just need to swipe down from the top notification bar once you've connected your Android device to a computer via USB. How this appears and is worded will vary depending on the manufacturer of the device, but what you're looking for is something referencing the USB connection, or it may say something like "Connected as ...". If you tap on that, it should bring up a list of modes for you to select from. The one you want will be called "MTP", "Media device", "File sharing" or similar. However, any camera / photo mode may be something different.

Once you put it into the correct file mode, it should appear on your computer as a drive (or two drives if your Android device has an SD card). If you're on a Mac, you'll need the Android File Transfer program to access your Android: http://Android.com/filetransfer

You can then navigate the file folders to go to Android/data/com.hptuners.trackaddict/files, which will contain files with names starting with "Log-", that correspond to the session recordings you see in TrackAddict. The ones with .MP4 file extensions are your videos, .CSV and .TAD are data (although you can disregard the .TAD files at this time).

If the sessions you were looking for do not appear here, then it may be stored on the other drive, assuming that your device has an SD card. One drive will be your device's own externally-accessible storage, and the other will be its SD card.

If it still doesn't appear, go into TrackAddict and verify that the session is stored on "External" or "SD Card" storage, and not "Internal" (those are not visible via USB or to other apps). Sometimes the device's USB file listing just isn't up to date, so you might also try disconnecting and reconnecting the USB connection after moving the storage location of any session files, and if all else fails, reboot the Android device.
