Thread: Spark limit testing

    Spark limit testing

    guys,

I have added new parameters to the following calibrations:

    12221098
    12221096
    9382927
    9382928
    9382957
    12206042
    12206017
    9382938
    9382941
    12206019
    12206035
    12222128
    12583655
    12578485
    12583711
    12216489
    12584719
    12586586

Please download the latest 2.1.11 beta and install (email support or PM a mod if you don't have the URL). I emailed everyone who emailed me files.

The new params are on the Spark Advance form. They control the RPM and VSS that spark ramp out occurs before fuel cut. Raising the values should eliminate the ramp out.

If your Cal doesn't appear in the list above and you want to test please email support along with your .hpt file.

    Ok Chris, couple questions here...

There are 4 new boxes that I see

    RPM - Drive (65535) RPM
    RPM - P/N (4000) RPM
    VSS - Reverse (26) MPH
VSS - Not Rev (106) MPH

What is the RPM - Drive and RPM - P/N mean exactly? And why is RPM - Drive set to 65535 RPM?

Didn't work with CALID 12578485. I can see the new options just fine. I changed RPM - Drive to 7000rpm, P/N to 7000rpm, and Not Rev to 150mph.

Here's a log of my lunch run up and down the freeway:

I didn't get a chance to test out the vss spark limiter.

Yeah, I'm a little brighter than that, I'm wondering what those numbers referred to exactly.

they are spark ramp out points to ramp out the spark before the limiters hit, i guess to make the limiter a bit more friendly. Now ti seems there are yet more limits

I'll find them, it's just a pain that it doesn't seem to be calibrated for most vehicles so we didn't see this one prior to release.

    Thanks for the update Chris.

Also, why isn't my Injector duty % working with the scanner? I'm able to see it just fine on my car with a different type of obd2 scanner. Just curious.

you have to be logging RPM and injector PW for the duty cycle to work. It is calculated not directly read from the PCM.

A specific Duty Cycle PID is actually NOT transmitted at all within the GM data stream. If available, it's totally a tool calculated PID using injector base pulse width and engine speed using the standard formula:
    RPM*BPW/1200
    HTH
    WOT

Any more word on this actually working?!?!

  14. #14
Id say it is I used to notice an instant change of getting richer at 6500 and beyond, now its leaner, like the rest of the powerband seems to follow the rest of the curve, as for power numbers i dont know i dont have a dyno with or without

what would you like them to comment on? Is there something still not working I guess?
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I posted this a month ago:

I didn't get a chance to test out the vss spark limiter.
Just like I did a month ago, I'm still having limit issues. Nothing has changed even though the Beta 2.1.11 file keeps getting bigger. I'd like to hear an update from the head honchos to make sure they haven't abandoned us.

Oh and my speed limiter is producing the same results.
