Proper way to flash tune on c7?

Every time I try and flash my 15 C7, it will run like crap, throw codes, and die. I have to get the car to fire up (dies most of the time) and delete the codes 20-30 times before they officially clear and the idle smooths back out. Everything is ok once the codes finally clear.

Push start button one time... write calibration...when finished tap the start button 2x real quick and open door, shut door and hear 2 quick honks... then push start button again then you can press the brake and a start engine.

Thanks! I will try that next time. I thought I was opening the door to reset everything, but maybe I did with the key still on.

I'm not exactly sure what codes it was throwing, but I think it said something about the key.

I do this, then open and close the door with the key off on every vehicle after a flash.

I saw a post a few years ago about someone having trouble like this and said it could be melted o2 wires??? I have had some melted wires, but thought they were fixed

Hold the start button down for six seconds to enter full run mode. Do NOT touch the brake or start the car. Flash the vehicle then hit the button to turn it off. Wait five seconds then hit the start button one time (do not start). Start logging and reset trims with the VCM tools. Start vehicle and let idle to normal temp before capturing a usable log. Do not throttle the car while warming. Drive and log as necessary.

Ive done several hundred gen 5 ecms, never had this, however today, it happened, same codes as mentioned above, and running on 4 cylinders. Only cure was reading and clearing codes while it was running. No combination of ignition cycles or writing would prevent it. Just had to clear codes continuosly until it corrected itself. Sometimes 1 time, sometimes 10 times, once had to do about 30 times. Frustrating

This sucks ... nothing works. Downloading latest beta.

This is officially dumb. New beta. Clear codes 30 times while running.
Opening doors, pressing button, etc does nothing.
