Need help getting shift points raised 2002 GTP

I have a 2002 GTP with stock gears, but up graded valve train. I want it to shift at 6400 rpm into 2nd and 3rd gear. we were having trouble getting it to shift so we put factory shift points back into it. Anyone know what to do?

    Thanks,
    Brent

Drive the car.(Scanning of course!!) See where the speed is at the rpm you want to shift. Both shift rpm and desired speed need to be calibrated for it to work. If you've dyno tested the car you know where the power band cuts out, and at what rpm, that's all the info you need and you'll be gold!

As you can see I'm a "junior" myself, so hopefully someone will back me up here.............

yeah your pretty much right on mmgt1...setting up shift points is more of an art then anything...it should take a couple of flashes to get right but isnt overly difficult. You need to set both mph & rpm markers and if it doesnt shift on time lower then until it does.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
