    where do you start?

    hey i have a quick question for you guys i wanting to get the hp tuner and start giving this stuff a go i was just curious when i start tuning does hp give you pre tuned files of am i going to have to start from scratch off of the stock file

    No...if you have never tuned before then I would recommend a lot of reading. We offer 2 hrs training with the VCM purchase as well as formal training sessions conducted one on one and interactively.

    so i will be working with the stock map and making changes from there?

    I don't like the term "map" because it's not what they really are but yes that is what you start with IF the vehicle is stock to start with.

    You are downloading the stock calibration from the computer and making any and all changes do that file.
    2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

    If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

    And I always say to start with the MAF. mainly because its the easiest. It reduces the variables and allows you to work out build issues, novices can get accustomed to the scanner, the use of filters etc without the complicated efforts of filling all those VE cells. Having to change gears, find hills, hit the brakes etc....and then the smoothing....Just my way of doing it.

    People seem to replace MAP for VE or Speed Density....And then you wonder if they just mistyped MAF :-)
