    6l80e fast learn procedure problem

I have read the stickys and researched like crazy. My issue is everytime I try and get it to do a fast relearn the scanner status says Temp Low. Ive logged trans temp in Celsius like the sticky say to and can only get trans temp up to around 79*c which is around 170*F. Stickys said mandatory of 70*+C. What could be my issue? Do I need to go for a longer drive or something?

Also, I didn't hit the reset and presets before trying this. Maybe that would help? whats the mandatory temp to try and get the fast learn to activate?

I never got it to work myself even with transmission temps over 170 degree's.

Anytime I do changes I've just done the trans preset/reset and been fine.

IF your not up to temp, it will not allow, had this issue on tech 2's early on. It has to be above temperature before clicking the button. I believe it internally times out before it will allow it. If you wait till its about 10* above temp, then click the button, it works everytime for me

shit I drove it around for about 15-20 miles and it still wouldn't hotter than a 170*. I figured that would have been plenty for it to activate. I gave up on it. Fans run full time on this truck so I don't think trans is going to get any hotter. Ill try a longer drive and see if I can get up around 180*.

Easiest to place the vehicle in drive, hold foot solid on the brake, and throttle lightly and hold it there until your temp reading gets above 170. You're not slipping the tranny, but the converter will heat the fluid...

I drove around and had it over 170 still wouldn't start. Said temp lo. Could it be with this setup being swapped into an older platform that it may not have all the needed features for it to work right? like being on the brakes. How would it know? only thing brakes are doing is unlocking converter.

Your problem may come because the modules are not receiving the brake signal, you're going to have to ing?nate them with someone who helps you install a system that recognizes the signal of the brake pedal

got trans shifting a whole lot better. I used blue cats trans calculator. Shifts are near perfect. ALso, noticed for WOT shift points the Seed settings need to be lower than say a normal trans like 4l80e. I dropped the speed and shifts dead on the money at wot. Thanks guys.

Seems the shift points and learn are critical on this thing. I did a 6l80e swap to my 07 tahoe and with out a quick learn it’s flairing on light throttle part throttle is decent I’m afraid to give it hell not shifting right. It’s built ratbestos red and kolenes and running a zl1 torque converter. This early lock up is terrible at low speed locks so hard takes a lot of throttle to get it out so really needs lots of fine tuning I can tell. It doesn’t like the stock program with this tc. I’m hoping a quick learn will help but same issue trans will not get over 140 degrees so far. I have also got a few random tc on in reverse and first that kills the motor. I really hope it’s a control issue as not wanting to pull this beast again.
