So the trans is shot in the 2011 Caprice. I can get a deal on a 2010 Camaro 6L80E. Can I Write the Caprice file to the Camaro trans w/HPTuners or does this require a trip to the GM dealer?
Thanks

If you are lucky and they have the same TCM OS you might be able to do it with HPT.
A member recently did that with is truck.

2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.
If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.
Thanks for the reply-
So if the OS is different, GM dealer can change thhe OS?
you can always pull the tcm out of the original trans and put it in the new one
Alright, I appreciate the help w/this.
Thanks
I did this with my denali, but both were same year trans, out of the same model, therefore same OS. I did successfully do a write entire with the original tune and everything and worked well. Not sure if it can be done with other years/OS mismatch. I would try it first, if it didn't work swap the tcm/valve bodies. I would try to flash before you added fluid. I actually hooked up my trans connector with it sitting on the jack and did everything before I bolted it in, incase I had to swap TCMs. Good luck.

The deal can for sure change the OS with their techII by the way. That was my backup plan.
