Did either of you two figure out the issue on your trucks of why the steering assist is reduced message was on?

Just so happen this just happened on the 2017 Silverado that I did the 6.2L manifold and throttle body swap on, then tuning on.

Nope. I have to clear it with the cluster button every time I jump in the truck.

Bumping this back up. Anyone find a solution? Just tuned a 2017 and it's been on ever since first flash.

It should have set a C0 (chassis) code.
I`m not sure that HP can read those codes?

  11. #11
Is steering assist actually reduced or you are just seeing a (errant) message with the warning the dash?

  12. #12
Don't notice any loss of power steering but who knows. I'll try and read the chassis codes with another scanner. Just ironic it happened after flash.

Did the speed limiter get maxed out during the tune?
Just a thought, but gen 5 does not like some tables maxed out.

    .
My bet is a table is max'd out like the LS series engines, and for some reason the LT series don't like that variable . Example if your used to maxing your Speed limiter tables to 318, the newer computers aren't liking max'd out amounts so bring it down to a 225 amount.

I read there was a recall for 800,000 trucks by chevy for steering assist problems.. just a fyi

Thank you. The speed limiter was not modified in the tune.

Just post the tune so people can look through it to see what was changed - otherwise just a guessing game...

In my situation, truck had a lost communication code with module. Cleared it with scanner and no more issues.
