411 PCM Into 99 Silverado

So i have this kid that put a '02 tahoe pcm into his 99 silverado. i turned the vats off and it runs, but its in reduced engine mode. the truck is obviously cable throttle and going through the tune shows its ETC. Was throwing codes for it too. Anyone know off the top of their heads what needs to be done to get this thing out of reduced engine mode? segment swap or something?

Don't quote me on this but if that computer has IAC drivers you can make it run the cable TB.

Otherwise you must install a DBW throttle body/engine harness and pedal assembly to match the computer.

If it was me I'd just grab a 01-02 silverado cable TB computer any put it in that truck.

Does the 99 have a 5.3? I think you could do a complete flash with an OS that was meant for DBC then tune it for the 5.3, that would probably solve the issue?

I'm confused why he bothered swapping the 0411 into a 99 silverado. This isn't a c/k series truck is it?

the 99 has a 5.3. I found a 02 silverado file that i think has DBC and did a segment swap and transferred everything that was important from a 99 into this 02 pcm like IFR, VE, MAF, SPARK ect.. im going to write it and see what happens.

the reason was because he had a superchips program on it and was putting it back to stock and pulled the cable before it was done finishing and supposedly bricked original pcm. his buddy had the 02 tahoe computer lying around so thats what im dealing with lol

Okay, that makes more sense. I don't see why that wouldn't work, hopefully you can avoid having to waste the credits to write a different OS onto that ecm. Let us know what happens.

alrighty well i uploaded the new tune with everything i said i did in post #5 and i worked great. no more reduced engine power and it runs perfect!
