Can anyone tell me if this ECM is locked? Or do I just need an update of some sort? I am running Version 3.4.18.

That's a super old version of the software, I'd suggest upgrading to the latest version (3.4.89 as of today) first and seeing if the issue is resolved.

Whatever became of this? What was the issue?
battery/wiring related issues is almost always the cause for x7f errors such as this.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
A wise man once said "google it"
Can an x7F error be caused by unsupported vehicles too?
I have this PCM on the bench with a constant 13.5v. I've had this issue for some time on 09 - 10 F150 PCMs, and thought it was related to HPT and that PCM. Or possibly to my bench harness pinout. But today, I was able to get it to read and write. It's something with my bench harness power supply adapter (pass thru connector).
Bill, could you give me a little more insight into exactly what that x7f error means? Like which pin is it looking for something to happen on?
