HP Tuners setup - AEM 30-0300 Wideband

I seem to be stuck. I have installed a new AEM 30-0300X and it appears to have gone well. I am now having an issue getting it to report correctly in HP Tuners. I have added MPVI and transformed it, but the data rarely moves in HP Tuners compared to the gage.

Right now I am using gmtech Layout (which has been very helpful). Please direct to that location if someone thinks they have a better one to use.

    Analog setup
    0-5V Analog Output
WHITE WIRE = Analog Positive +
BROWN WIRE = Analog Negative -
    0-5V Analog Output Scaling Formulas

    Tranformed
    AFR = (2.3750 * Volts) + 7.3125

Do I need to update the firmware for this to work in HP Tuners in Analog?

No, but it looks like you have to buy the pins, wire and populate the A connector pins 9 and 10 (to mpvi pins 1 and 5) like the 0333 unit. The HP tuners transform for analog AFR is :

    Input (v) / 0.4211 + 8.500

Heck, I thought I was going to need the firmware upgrade to get this to work like the 30-0333 .

Is this the correct cable ?

    I think I got it ... https://www.hptuners.com/forum/showt...-0300-or-other

Basically, the difference is, there is only 1 CAN bus interface on the gauge.

On the 30-0300, it is used for the AQ-1 formatted data.
On the 30-0333, is it used for OBDII formatted data, readable by HPTuners.

The pins are available from digikey. I don't think summit has them. http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...8-1-ND/1989509

The 30-0300 has all of the wires in the harness. The 30-0333 only has power and the OBDII connector in the harness. Hence, the need for the pins.

Unless you are going to use the AQ-1, the best combination seems to be the 30-0333 with thge extra pins, if needed.

    That's pretty much it.

The 30-0333 is a 30-0300 with the OBDII firmware and the OBDII pass-thru cable ( w/o the analog pins installed )

The 30-0333 + the pins gives the most flexibility w/ HPTuners

Is there someone still doing the Firmware upgrades? I was hoping the newer AEM 30-0300's had a newer version of firmware that worked

Hi, I'm new to hp tuners and this subject is what I was trying to figure out. I have the 30-300 and hp tuners does not "see" it at all and from what I read above it won't unless I wire something different?

That would be me. But, at this point, if you want the OBDII functionality, you should get the 30-0333. The 30-0300 firmware is, specifically, for the AQ-1. The CAN interface can only be AQ-1 or OBDII.

If you ordered the 30-0300 you have a couple of options.

    1. Use the analog output. It is, actually, very good.
    2. Have the gauge reflashed with the 30-0333 firmware. Then, it will work via the OBDII interface. But, you will need to wire it in, manually.

I'm having a issue where hptuner isn't picking up the wideband at all. I've triple checked the wiring. White wire to 1st terminal and brown to 5th but it doesn't show up in hp tuner. I even tried tying into the chassis ground as suggested by AEM

I think there is a thread, here, somewhere, that describes the procedure for setting up an analog input wideband channel.
Should be similar for all models. The MPVI has no idea what is connected to it, unless you tell it.

I also tried to hook it up as Analog and it wouldn't see it correctly. I have read a lot of posts and I still have no idea what I am doing incorrectly.

According to AEM it should work in analog but it doesn't. I also tried to datalog my run earlier and it wouldn't record. So I wonder if I have a bad HP Tuner interface or the software is bad. Very frustrating to spend this kind of money and doesn't work
