    Log Repairer? VCM Scanner

Quite often I find if I log too long or something happens VCM Scanner crashes...... it still saves the log but I cant open it.

Any chance at some point you can add a repaired log? or maybe have the scanner detect the log file is broken and open what it can?

    Cheers
    Jamie.

Using Beta Jamie? This very problem or at least a problem a lot like it was supposed to have been fixed on beta, but only in beta... Anyway, I was just wondering...

GHuggins is spot on. I had this problem with the stable version, but not the Beta. I also discovered that with the stable version there are/were variances dependent on the processor speed of your laptop and quantity of RAM too.

I had this problem on the beta several times in the last month, all while logging on long trips. More than 30-40 minutes on a log and Scanner would hang and if not caught early, I'd have to hold down the power button to restart Win 10. Last time I discovered if I closed down any other apps I had open (email, Chrome, VCM Editor), I was able to close Scanner and re-open it and resume logging.

My longest log is 39 mb, but I have several that didn't make it that long before hanging. So far I haven't had any trouble re-opening these logs tho.

I've never experienced this on the stable version and I've logged several 240 mile trips (but stopped logging when fueling the vehicle or ourselves). Strange no problem with 200 mile trips on stable, but lots of problems with 50 mile trips on the beta.

I think my problem with long logs was related to having VCM Editor, Chrome and Windows Live Mail open while logging. If I close Chrome and Mail I can log for a couple hours without issue.
