car hesitates on cold start, ideas?

My 95 Grand Am does this, my other one did it too. It is a 3.1 auto. I read something one time that explained it but forgot what it was and where I saw it lol.

Anyone know? It is a low throttle. If I go past half it seems to go away, and after the car is driven a half mile or mile its fine. It is like the car doesnt even know I am giving it gas. I want to say it was something to do with the tranny settings but I cant remember.

How about sticking your wideband in it. You don't need the factory o2 sensors on a cold start anyway...

It would be too much of a PITA, esp if there is nothing I can do lol

Like I said, I remember reading something about this and just cant remember. I dont know if it is as simple as warming the car up or what. It acts like I am giving the car no gas, the rpms wont change at all.
