How to edit VE with new version

I've worked with the old version and the custom VE OS, but how do we edit VE with a standard OS that has patches and speed density enabled?

Edit: once I activated SD, closed it out and reopened I now see normal VE tables and sped density tab is gone.
Is this correct? So then it's basically the same as the old custom OS?

So I guess what I'm asking is can VE be edited and a VE table made without enabling SD patch?

why don't you use the virtual volumetric efficiency editor changing the scale?

    open the editor
click on edit then edit virtual volumetric efficiency.
you can change the map scale by clicking on it and chose the scale accordingly to the map sensor you have.

dont forget to extend the dynamic airflow (engine-airflow-dynamic)
    i set mine to 8000 and re-enable to 7900

i forgot. once you made the change you have to click on calculate. and the only table to change is the open manifold

Thanks. So I'm guessing you make a histo in scanner and use that info to adjust values?

What coefficient tab is responsible for the VE graph in editor?

Here's how I adjust for VVE. Basically, log the short term fuel trim errors... use the "average" values and not the high or low values. I have the minimum hits required set to 30. Try to get as many cells filled as possible.

Copy/paste special multiply by % into the VVE tables for Manifold Switch Open and click Calculate coefficients. Then do the same for Manifold Switch Closed.

Thanks for the responses. That should be enough to get me going. Wont be tuning it for a while as motor is still apart. Just want to have my ducks in a row so to speak when time comes.

Do you guys filter data from any particular cells (zones) when building the histo?

The more data you get the better will be the tune.

    I use the classic method.
Idle for at least a minute, then the same for 1000-1500-2000 rpm etc.
Once I have the data I do 1500-4000 in 3 different mode really slow, normal cruising and medium load

I use the wideband for medium-high to high load. And of course wideband for wot.

WHat are you doing to the car? Boost?

Thanks. It's been boosted for a while, 10-12 psi. I'm now doing some headwork and a cam.

When you are finished with the VE table, do you change the dynamic airflow back to stock #'s?? I'm FNG!! With lots of questions!!

Depends which mode you wish to run your engine, if running Maf/VE then you set your Dynamic Airflow numbers back to stock.
If you wish to stay SD then leave the numbers high at something the rpm will never see ie. 8000rpm.

If you wish to run Maf only set high and low numbers to something like 400 & 390rpm.
