Trying to get a definitive answer on what is needed tune and electrically to swap over to a 4l80 due to the tfp switch, 3-2 downshift solenoid delete and the internal mode switch. My plan is to wire my t42 over to a 2009 express van with a 4l80 and run the trans segment from it as well. Would this work as far as running the 4l80?
If the Express TCM 80E OS matches your Silverado TCM 60E OS, just seg swap the Express Transmission and Transmission Diagnostics over.
If it doesnt match, you can either rewire your existing 60E OS to run the 80E or start with how a 07 80E TCM tune looks and copy the differences over. HPT has the bit values exposed to change the mode switch, I've never had to use them but might be work looking into.
