2009 E38 OS "change" with HPT

    My 2009 E38 is service# 12625455 with 12630501 OS.

If I write entire with file from repository 12628988 OS (2009 Corvette manual)

    - Compatible?
    - What is not affected/included? (Non written segments)
    - Can I write entire and go back to 12630501 as was, no issues?

Standalone E38, don't care about VIN or other GM modules.
I've searched a lot and this is still very unclear, sadly trial and error potentially leave enough "bricks" to build a BBQ pit.

    Thanks,
    /Thomas

I know, you mean the EFIL**e document I guess.
Thing is, the few '09 Corvette manual E38 .hpt's I pulled from the repository has been 12628988 and listed as '09 Vette (In HPT/tune info window also). I think EFI has this OS listed in the 06/07 ECM column. Strange. This is also why I'm hesitating to just try it.
There's also the Pontiac G8 with OS 12633016 which is listed in above doc as compatible. Maybe thats a safer route to try as long as I can go back again.

    Generally speaking ...

E38 service number 12625455 was introduced in the 2009 model year.

E38 service number 12612384 was introduced in the 2008 model year.

However, some 2009 E38 vehicles still used what could be referred to as 2008 E38s.

The 2009 Corvette manual OS you mentioned (12628988) will be from an LS7, and these still used the 2008 E38 (12612384).

    Likewise with 2009 Pontiac G8s. OS 12624402 used 2008 E38s (12612384), while OS 12633016 used 2009 E38s (12625455).

To be compatible with your 12625455 E38, you will need 2009 Corvette manual OS 12628990 (used with the LS3).

This type of reprogramming will require a Tech 2, MDI, or similar device.

Thanks Jon, got it. Good info.

I don't think I will find someone in Sweden to do the os swap on my E38. Guess I will have to try to find a used one with man corvette OS on it.

Sorry for bump but..... less than a year

Will you please verify for me if this Vette OS will still corrupt the seed/key relationship when flashed with HPT, is that why you must use Tech2 or MDI?
