    TCM calculator

    Howdy folks.

Im about to tackle a 2007 or 2008 Magnum with a 5.7 in it. Im going to play with the shift points using the TCM calculator. This car is also getting a diff ratio swap. Is there a way to compensate for the gear ratio swap or are the shift points based strictly on output speed. Is there a way to compensate for higher stall torque converters or is it still an output speed thing.

    Thanks in advance

You will have to change the gear ratio in the scanner, it will ask tire size and gear ratio, I can't remember the order...do that which is very important as the NAG trans does not have an output speed sensor, so the phantom output speed is calculated by the TIPM to determine when to shift. It will take some time figuring out your output speeds and when it's shifting because it's not very exact, so that you will have to mess it for a little bit. The converter again you will have to mess with as it's different for every converter, TCC desired slip, apply speed and release speed are the tables to mess with to make it feel right and not throw DTC's. Some DTC's you may even just have to turn off, again it's different for each converter.
