    Help with cammed Challenger RT

We installed a Comp 274 cam in a 2014 Challenger RT (5.7L AT) along with a set of long tube headers and off-road exhaust. I've only tuned a handful of Dodge vehicles so I don't have the most comprehensive understanding of the Dodge logic at this point but the others have seem to come out fine. This one is being a PITA. The customer isn't satisfied at all with the driveability and says it stalls and he can't get it started again. Also complains that the throttle response just off idle is horrible and that when coming to a stop the idle bobbles before it settles in on the lopey idle. Let me say that I've put 150 miles on this car and I think it drives very well and have only had it stall once (about 3:30 in on the log).

Anyways, some of the things I've tried to deal with the idle bobble:

    (1) Added part throttle timing down in the idle range (<1000 rpm and .40-.50 gps) - seemed to cause more stalling
    (2) Basically doubled the idle spark torque spark and idle torque throttle settings. Thinking here that I could get more aggressive response (chasing) of the idle bobble.
    (3) Brought all my idle speeds up about 60 rpm from stock - looking for 750-ish for the lope.
    (4) Shut off NN and tuned the VE tables (set VE2 active as well). The car will not run at all with NN active.
    (5) Change the exhaust cam settings, logging cam error and trying to reduce/eliminate the error. Not really sure if I've handled these params correctly though for the 274 cam with limiters installed.

Any advice greatly appreciated. Getting close to tossing in the towel on this one.

A lot has to be changed with torque, airflow and pedal feel on the cammed mopars..

The cam timing won't effect too much on drivability and stalling issues..

    Jeff,

with that cam what i usually adjust as follows:

throttle body airflow below .10v add gram or two

injectors would need to be rescaled inPw

minimum spark min i change timing max 0/-2 degrees only

baro i only disable for boost

you also have max airflow clipped at 550 grams should reach much more say 800

I've put 350 miles on the car this week and find it to drive very well. Hasn't stalled once, starts every time I hit the button. I'm hard pressed at this point to change a thing.

Sultan => I will look at your input. Thank you.

I haven't examined your tune yet, however have you moved the shift points at all from stock with this larger camshaft? I am working on a 16 charger with a 270 camshaft and am wondering if I can get some more RPM out of the motor with it.
