Starting recording before race start?

Is there a way to start recording before the start of the race? I know that when I start a session it says "Recording starts automatically. Tap here to start sooner", but when I do that the video still begins on the grid at the start, rather than from when I've pushed "Record Now" - which seems counter-intuitive to me - shouldn't it record from when I tapped it, in the pits just prior to leaving the garage?

Pressing the "Record Now" button should start it recording at that point. What may be happening here is that the app's video player will usually skip past the staging or out-lap by default, as that's not of interest to most users. To get it to show the very beginning of your video, just make sure that you have the very first lap list item selected (ie "Out-Lap" / "Staging") along with the lap range that you want to see. If none are selected, then it will default to starting playback right before you cross the start line for the first time.
