    2017 Raptor tune help

Trying to tune My 2017 and any help would be appreciated.

Been tuning GM's and Coyotes, but new to Ecoboost.

First thing I am trying to tune is the closer of the throttle to an almost 50%from 3700 rpm onward. Tried different things within the Electronic Throttle tab with no luck.
Many TQ management has been raised up within ECU and TCU, still same issue.

Log shows Comp.Stab.Limit, which I don't understand that.

Anyway, Stock Tune, tuned file and log attached.

Waiting for the feedback from any, please.

Don't sweat throttle closures too much. The PCM uses throttle and wastegate control to manage boost/load. At a quick glance, your throttle is dropping because the air charge starts to get warm and you hit the load limit in the LSPI tables (load limit based on MCT and RPM). Looks like the high table is being used. Try something like what I did in the screen shot below. I use 1.85 as my limit since that is about 18psi. You may run into another limiter after raising the LSPI table, but this should be a good start.

To get a idea of what needs to be raised/adjusted download a stock 2017 regular f150 tune file and compare it to your raptor tune, this will give you a few ideas on what ford did to get the extra power out of the raptor over the regular f150. It won't tell you everything but it's a good starting point.

I have made many changes and getting 18-16 psi up top but can not get any more than that.

I have attached the stock tune, Latest Tune and Latest Log.

I have noticed that my advance is negative in many areas. Wondering why?
Also, Torque source is Spark Control

Any help in better tune would be great.

your lspi is 1.85 under 100 degree mct. that looks too low to me

I did not increase that area since my MCT is above that 100 degree Fin accordance to my log.
Do you think I should have increased to all temperature range?

I've tried increasing the whole area from 3500 rpm and on with no luck still.

    Awaiting any more input.

combustion stability comes up on my truck if my LSPI tables are lower than the manifold pressure. if I set mine to 1.85 and make 18psi of boost ill see "combustion stability" come up. I raised mine to 2.2 and it doesn't come up anymore. I was having my TB close and lower boost. I raised my IPC Maximum map table and never had an issue since. pm me your email and I can send you a file to help you.

i have a raptor E85 tune you can run also if you like. then you can increase boost without any octane issues

If you don't mind sharing it, would like to check it out so I can add e85 to my Raptor.

    f150 2017 germano 10 speed raptor timing, 19psi e85 increase ipc demand.hpt

enjoy. this is conservative on the timing. probably could take a bit more timing.

I was able to have the boost up to 16psi at higher rpm starting from 19psi @3200 rpm or so but couldn't get more.

I am having a limp mode kicks when in part throttle @3000rpm or so with 42% pedal if boost is raised more than factory. I get a code with Torque Calculation error. Went and raised the DD a bit at that rpm range, no positive results.

    PM sent by the way.
    Thanks

I had that happen once. the tune I sent you should take care of that.

Made little progress with boost but still seeing some limiters active, even though they are maxxed out.

I will appreciate any help for the below things:
    • Trans Truncuation Limit
    • Increasing boost more the current 17 psi at shifting point
    • Negative timing

throttle blade is closing limiting boost even though you have your foot to the floor.

for some reason I'm not able to open your file... I'm chasing a part throttle issue which causes limp mode...

    Hi,

go to torque model, torque calculation,

then engine torque and inverse (this one limits load.... put it as high as your load want to be bottom 2 rows...)

change these. compare to the file posted here.
