Completely Stock 2016 Mustang EcoBoost Mods

First, I have never tuned an EcoBoost. With that said, a friend just picked up a dead stock 2016 Mustang EcoBoost. She wants better throttle response, firmer shift points (auto obviously), increased HP and possible better MPG. For those of you who have worked on this model, what are the reasonable expectations for tuning a stock engine combo? Can you expect some decent performance gains with nothing more than a modified tune?

If yes, does anyone have a safe modded calibration for a stock tune? If not, where should I spend my time? Thanks.

Hopefully the picture post. Our shop 2017 (auto) mustang made 316hp and 380 torque with just a set of colder gapped spark plugs.

my advise would be to not touch your ignition and only modify your boost settings and DD

Metroplex put together a great guide for the 11-14 ecu's tuning an SHO. The 15+ ecu is a little more complex, but most of the guide is still applicable. Read through his guide and start playing around with some values, if/when you get stuck post up and I'll try to help you where I can. One tip that a lot of people new to ford miss is there may be torque limits in the transmission -> torque management tab. Those limits won't show up as a 'source' limit on your logs.

    Here's the link to metroplex's guide: https://www.hptuners.com/forum/showt...-Tuning-Guides
