Question TA HEVC aka H.265 Support?

I am curious now that iOS 11 is out, does TA support HEVC aka H.265 video encode on devices that support it in hardware, looks like iPhone 7 and up?

Presently, it would be up to iOS to decide, as we only give it the desired resolution, frame rate, and a few other parameters. We don't explicitly ask for one codec or another, as the operating system already does a great job at choosing the most optimal codec and profile level for our recording parameters.

I have not experimented with this on iOS yet, but if H.265/HEVC encoding were to be used, it would need a device running iOS 11 with an A10 or newer processor (found in the iPhone 7 and newer, or a suitable iPad Pro). The codec that iOS chooses could also differ between 30 FPS and 60 FPS recording modes.

Also, keep in mind that H.265/HEVC playback compatibility will be limited in other devices and computers. To use it on your computer, you'll need Windows 10 or macOS 10.13 (High Sierra), and your system may need to have HEVC hardware support as well.
