    lq9 redline

Can't find anything on what the stock LQ9 engine can safely shift at for WOT rpms? Its a stock 06 sierra denali and where it shifts getting on the highway WOT going into 3rd gear its extremely doggy. 2nd - 3rd it shifts around 5100rpms and I see the engines peak HP is at 5200rpms. Just wondering how high i can safely shift at stock everything?

5700-5900 on stock valve springs to play it safe. I'm sure some have taken it higher but the horsepower has already fallen off before you ever reach 6,000rpm on a stock camshaft.

I went from 5400-5500 in mine to 5700-5800 just fine.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

if I am understanding hptuners there is no spot to pick for shifting RPM just in MPH shifting, correct? I have raised that 4-5 mph more in the 1-2 and 2-3 shift to see if that raises it to where I want

They can safely spin to 7,000, however what 5FDP told you is true. There is no point to rev it higher than 6000 because the stock cam and valvetrain will lose power above 6000.
I have found that the sweet spot for the shift on those engines is: 5900 for 1-2 and 5800 for 2-3

sounds good to me.. better than 5100 - 5200 2-3 shift.. it feels so doggy. But where on HP Tuners can you shift by RPM? all I see is MPH shift

Next to the part throttle shift tables there are a few WOT RPM tables where you set the full throttle shift RPM. They only have one value per shift, easy to recognize
