What are the beta v3.7 rules with backwards compatibility?

Hi, I just downloaded the v3.7 beta and want to make sure I know what the rules are about backwards compatibility before I do anything. I've tried searching but haven't had luck finding anything. Can I use v3.7 to flash files that were made in v3.6? Do I need to do a full read of my tune in v3.7 for any reason? All I know so far is that files made with v3.7 can't be flashed in v3.6.

So far every incarnation has allowed you to use a newer version of the software and manipulate older files. The problem has always been that newer files won't open on older software.

I believe that holds true in this situation as well.
