Nope, looks like the max value you enter is what the pid follows rather than the pid accurately displaying good data, with that said changing it pretty drastically hasn't had any negative impact from what I can tell.

so my friends car has a mechanical boost gauge, but he goes off his logs from his NGauge, which are using "oem sensors" for boost levels, if i am understanding this correctly? and the pcm doesnt actually use a MAP reading for this, but it has some algorithm to try and calculate it? (which stock im sure worked fine). is this correct? (if so, am i correct in assuming the boost hes logging isnt necessarily "true" boost?)
a calculation based on scenarios will never be perfect. He should use a mechanical boost gauge if he has no other means. I wouldn't trust with 100% accuracy what the ecm is saying it may or may not be.
