Thread: DOUBLE STOICH - HALF IFR Question

    DOUBLE STOICH - HALF IFR Question

    Doubling Stoich and cutting IFR in half seems to get around the 63# injector size hard limit. Is there a away to be able to copy and paste the MAF vs AFR error into the MAF table? Doing it this way shows an AFR error close to 50%. Is there an easy workaround anyone could share? Thanks

    Don't forget to do your IVT terms times .5 and instrument cluster times .6 too... There are math equations posted around on here for logging afr error with changing stoic, ethanol and doing this if you prefer using afr...

    Trying Lambda now. I know it all works but the AFR numbers numbers just make more sense in my head with the limited brain power I have left.

    I searched and didn't come up with any math equations. I'll try some different search terms. I did the IVT Terms but not the instrument cluster times. What does that do?

    Thanks, as always.

    I tried to get HPT to put this one into the scanner, but they wouldn't - it's courteous of Jslic... This one logs identical to lambda error - just make sure your logging air fuel in the channels for your wideband... 100*(([50120]*((1-(([82.156]/2.45)/100))*14.68)) - ([50118.238]*((1-(([82.156]/2.45)/100))*14.68))) / ([50118.238]*((1-(([82.156]/2.45)/100))*14.68))
    50120=Air Fuel Ratio Sensor
    82.156=Ethanol Fuel Percent % SAE
    50118=EQ Ratio Commanded
    Winds up looking like this vvvv Of Course I do have mine referencing specific bank to bank widebands - otherwise the same...

    The instrument cluster setting keeps your fuel mileage honest. Otherwise, with .5 flow rates and double stoich, the display will show around twice the actual mileage

    Thanks guys, really.
    It's a big help.

    In Gen IV setups we use the FUEL DENSITY table to get that calculation back in line. Same if we are using the Full Scale method....sometimes you won't see it...send support a request to add if not in your OS

    Damn Greg, they are alot more complicated than mine....If clients want to log in AFR, I just use Commanded AFR as [50121]/2 and AFR Err as (100*([50120]-([50121]/2))/([50121]/2)

    Commanded AFR will follow the ethanol % if a flex fuel capable platform. If not you would have to adjust the Commanded AFR but you would also have to do that in yours....

    Air Fuel Error - the traditional method won't compensate for changing stoic or ethanol percents... The one I posted is long and complicated, but it corrects for everything and gives an identical error to lambda... I like being able to see my af ratios - lambda causes too many blinders to be put on by tuners - you can have one with a lambda 1 at 15, 14.7, or whatever the O2's may say is lambda, which is why I like afr... AFR does come from lambda, but still I like to know my numbers...

    With the formula I posted Ed, you don't have to manually input anything like ethanol % - it already corrects for it
