I'm wondering what is the max boost the turbos on the F150 ecoboost will efficiently make. I know the sho will do 15psi, but from what I've seen, the truck runs 15psi stock. Any help would be great.

The SHO and the F-150 use different turbos. The F-150 uses a K03.
How much boost can these turbos support before heat soak?
220-230kpa
Above atmosphere, or from vacuum?
17-18psi of boost, it seems over that it's just making heat from everything I've read in my free time.

So the 15 pounds is about it. Well that sucks. Thank you. I'll make sure to upload my tune in a but. It has a little compressor surge when you shut the throttle.
No. Like 5FDP wrote, the F150/Expeditions get 17-18psi easily. Which with good 93 octane often equals a high 12/low 13 second truck...with very few mods. I don't think that sucks.
The SHO and Explorer get about 15-15.5psi before losing efficiency. Also not too bad.
No, doesn't suck, but I was thinking they would have been a little further from maximum than 2-3psi.
is that 17-18 peak or at redline? Those little baby k03s ought to be able to crank out over 20 psi in the mid range before they run out of flow up top and you have to taper the boost down.Originally Posted by 5FDP

They can easily make more than 18 PSI at 3000 rpm, you have to be careful though because the turbos at that rpm can actually over run the throughput of the HPFP which results in a cascading loss of fuel pressure and severe lean condition.
