There is a folder that hp tuners auto saves the logs to, looks where you installed it to, under vcm scanner, should be a logs folder.

Good, with the pro version a wideband is easy.

Not at my computer to check the tune but, Before you start pulling timing out of it disable burst knock. And run another log to see if the 8 degrees of kr was from burst knock.

One easy way to find out is to unplug the egr and disable it in the tune.

Can you include command AFR and tcc duty cycle in the logs? With those changes, you'll probably have to reduce timing in some of those areas. I saw kr as high as 7*? A few degrees isn't a big deal, I would mainly focus on events over 3*.

Add (cylinder airmass) to your channels list. This way we can see at which air mass your having this knock. right now its just populating the first row of the graph. I say buy a bottle of torco or some quality octane booster. Use premium fuel and add the booster while your fuel tank is half or less. Try to double the potency ratio of which is stated on the octane boosters bottle. if your still having knock at this moderate of advance then its more than likely false.

I would make some adjustments to the spark correction tables while your at it.

I broke down on the way to work this morning. My fuel pump burned up. I replaced it, thought maybe that was my issue but i logged a little bit and i still have the knock....long day. Ill make the changes u said after work tmrw. That you for your help. I gotta get this ol girl running right! Oh i changed my plugs today too and noticed a broken off stud on my manifold. Could that cause me problems? It looks and sounds sealed still? Good thing i have new headers on the way

Damn that sucks. Fuel pumps are really fickle on these things. Might want to verify fuel pressure is 58-62 psi when you prime the pump.

    Stud shouldn't hurt anything.

Edit: Suppose I can't blame the pumps too much, they are all 20 years old.

broken studs are very common. if they cause issues they tend to cause a bank issue where one ones good and the other witnesses fresh air on the o2 and goes stupid rich. get yourself a nice new gasket and some upgraded hardware. dont forget to use anti-seize.

You think he should worry much about it before he swaps in headers? I was assuming that would happen soon?

Ide say put the headers on and build an exhaust. The right way the first time. Never hurts to put Better parts in place of old heavy cast iron trot line weights. Re-tune the VE and use the maf if you want but I personally am not a fan of the maf sensors used in these applications. I wouldn't worry much about the broken stud in the exhaust. Shoot my wife's Tahoe has had a broken manifold bolt for a couple years now and I always say when it starts leaking I'll fix it.

Man I feel ya buddy I was supposed to get my rifle parts today and that didn't happen. What type of headers did you end up getting shorty/mid length or longtubes

Now that is true disappointment. Haha

Better they show up a day late than damaged though. Last pair of headers I bought (ceramic coated) looked like they were drug across a parking lot.

Also curious what you bought though.

Cams get expensive, but other than that they're worth it. I recommend it if you can accept that.

Yes you can log it. Just search afr in the the channel list.
