    Start up AFR lean

I had tuned the VE with the fuel trims and had them close, avg. -3...and have idle trims close to 0 for BRAF, but still had idle surging so I got a WB and on start up it jumps around and sometimes pegs the max of 18:1 and sometimes goes to --- which I assume is even higher, I have read about this and it seems to be a problem others are having, has anyone found how to correct this?...and is that much lean not dangerous to the motor? or do you just live with it?
    thanks for any help!

A.I.R. pump is active for the first 30 seconds to 1 minute. Puts air into the exhaust to clean up emissions & help light off the cats.

Is the Air pump actually out of your car though? If not, at least pull the fuse (and the relay if so inclined).
