Is there a difference in the ficm strategies even after we tune them? I was told today that my strategy was a garbage one, and it's holding me back?? I'm a little confused, because I don't understand what else there could be behind the curtains in the form that could change or limit the settings we enter?

Depends on the year. The earlier calibrations were hard on injectors but got better mileage. What year is your truck, has the FICM ever been updated from Ford?
