Are there certain things you can't change in the ZF8? Working on a trans tune for a Whipple 392 and just keep having it startup in limp mode.

Bump... Anyone using the latest beta / an SCT unlocked PCM and transmission tuning? Really want to get this straightened out before a track day next weekend
Are you getting any codes?
Yeah. Can't remember which ones but several. Lost communication with TCM and several others. I can change shift pressures and it works and drives fine but keeps the DTCs set. Seems like anything else I change it goes in limp mode and stays stuck in one gear. I can't even raise shift points.
Anyone else encounter this? Customer was going to have HP Tuners do the unlock in case it was because this was unlocked by SCT and I was told by HP Tuners support the unlock didn't have anything to do with TCM tuning and no recent updates have changed anything related to it
You should provide more info on car and a tune file would help.

2017 Scat Pack Charger. Not going to undo parts of tune I don't want to post to post but I will say we're talking minor changes to TCM tune put it in limp mode. I can go raise a shift point and put it in limp mode. Similar tunes on other cars without issues
When I have time to get together with them to try again I'll try Whipple tune as it is from Whipple and only raising a single shift point just to confirm problem and post that
Are you using the Special Functions to erase TCM codes or the code utility?
Jaime
I tried both with no luck. Think I'm doing something wrong / having bad luck here and just need to flash it and get the codes removed?
Im having this same issue on 17 scat. There is about a 6 things i cant touch or it breaks it (codes and wont go into gesr). Anyone ever get anywhere with this?
What? Why would you undue any parts of the tune with a problem and ask for help? Don't want anyone to see the tune? I mean I don't know about some others but after tuning dozens successfully a broken tune sure doesn't do anyone any good. There are little things all over the PCM and TCM tune that can cause this, one little thing between cals and what's available in the software. So if you don't want to post what you are actually using in the car currently, the version of HPT software, then you are wasting everyone's time.

^^^^ This is a fact
so did you guys end up just arguing or actually figure this out becase im in the same predicament, put hell catsueprcharger on 5.7 with mmx kit and its in limp mode p0129 and p2174 doesnt want to go at all, put hellcat voltage values in the baro and map tried every combination with no success.
Post your tune and if you can a log and someone here will help you. (not me as I look for help)
If you are reluctant to post your tune then you can go here and buy all the books that the people who are willing to help you with already have.

There are too may variables to just guess at without data.
I am not the guy that tunes transmissions, our username is similar. If yo message me about I am not replying anymore.
I saw limp mode and clicked on this topic. Looking for help and will share anything you guys want, as it may help many people.
Have a 2017 Jeep GC Trailhawk, 5.7 Hemi, Procharger, 8hp 8-speed trans. Changed the gears to 3.7 ratio.
Had the Diablosport tuner that came with the Procharger. There was an update to the trans tune from them that I installed and ever since it hits the limp mode just before it shifts at WOT. I can?t seem to roll back the update no matter what I’ve tried. Next thing was to buy the HP Tuners setup. Some have told me to lower the shift points as it must be an over rev deal, but the log does not show it going over like 5,530 rpm’s as it goes into limp mode. It does throw codes (most I’m sure do not apply), see below.
0x7E8: P1400 (Current)
0x7E8: P2172 - Throttle Actuator Ctrl Sys-Sudden Hi Airflow Detected (SES, Pending, Current, Permanent, History)
0x7E8: U0129 - Lost Communication With Brake System Control Module (History)
0x7E8: U1110 (Current, History)
0x7E8: U1120 (Current, History)
0x7E8: U1141 - Lost ESP Torque Req Message (History)
0x7E8: U11BC (Current, History)
0x7E8: U11C2 - Lost Transmission Message (History)
0x7E8: U11DE (History)
0x7E9: P1DB6 (Pending, Current)
0x7E9: P1DD2 (SES, Current, Permanent)
0x7E9: P215C - Output Shaft Speed - Wheel Speed Correlation (Pending, Current)
0x7E9: U1428 (SES, Current, Permanent)
The P215C code might be something due to the gear change and may affect the limp mode?
If you think you can help, I will be more than happy to attach my tune.
Thanks

Gear change will do it if you changed up . Tcu thinks you are over raving the oss
0x7E9: P215C - Output Shaft Speed - Wheel Speed Correlation (Pending,
I looked to see if I could change the gear ratio, but could not find it. I know with the Diablo tuner I could put in different tires sizes, but also don’t see that with the HP Tuners as I’m sure it is a calculation somewhere. Do you know how I can change the gear ratio? Went from the stock 3.09:1 to 3.70:1. When I changed the differentials, no adjustment had to be done to the speedometer, as it must get its input from the wheel sensors. Also had no lights, bells go… off.
Thanks for your input.
