    Won't license vehicle

    Hey,
got everything installed, plugged it into my 01 cavy z24 (s/c with gm s/c reflash from dealership) and tried to flash->read the vcm for the first time to license car and it keeps telling me that i have an 'invalid vin/os - unable to license vehicle'.

    Heres my vcm suite info.

I also emailed this to support, but anybody have a similar problem/fix?

    Nate

    ok.

Chris sent me a link to a software update and i tried it but still didn't work. So it still comes up with 'invalid vin/os pair. Cannot license'.

Again, the vcm suite info is attached from this update.

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I have a 2006 Chevrolet corvette (ls2). I am running ver .12 I also cannot seem to get the record button to work on the interface module... When I push the record button the err light comes on. I am using the usb interface. The VCM scanner software seems to work. I just can’t get the editor or the data logger on the interface module to work

as for stand alone data logging http://mysite.verizon.net/whenn1/HPT...onelogging.swf i dunno what to tell you about the licensing thing other then read through www.hptuners.com/help and if that still doesnt cover it contact them via email on your customer login page.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately, I had already tried this, without wathcing the flash demo. After watching the demo, it gave me a couple of pointers, but none of them panned out. I am still getting the err light coming on when I pushe the record button. And I still cannot get it to license the vehicle.

    I have emailed tech support.

    Thanks again

    Jerry

how many PID's are you trying to log? try logging 24 bytes or less & see if that works...that flash demo is flawless & should allow it to work everytime without issue. Im thinkin the request access thing might just be a need to pull some fuses...im sure support will know better then I though.

Update...As it turns out, the software that a dyno shop used (not hptuner) to tune my vehicle locked the computer. This was causing my 'unable to license vehicle' error. The shop did not know the new version of the software (not hptuner) was set out of the box to lock the computer. They changed the setting and reflashed the computer with the factory tune to unlock the computer. Now hptuner connects without issue! I have not tried the data loggin since the computer was unlocked.
