easiest thing ive found to be reliable as a work around is to run it with the auto enabled and upping any auto talk limits including the FMEM limit, then raise the auto rev limits.
is best to 0 or 1 the torque management tables to disable all that shit but leave torque management enabled and leave .80 in the rev limit cell in the fuel cut torque management table. if you make the ETC rev limit higher than the fuel cut rev limit then it will have a fuel cut rev limiter and will bounce rather than hold.
are the reverse lights still wired up and working like factory?
fg will run in a reduced torque mode when the ecu has no reverse light switch reference.
thanks misk
no the car had no reverse lights or tail lights hooked up we have also droped the zf6 for a Powerglide 2 speed with transbrak
I wonder if wiring up a reverse light switch somewhere (doesn't have to be in the box) - with one side going to 12v+ and the other going to pin b30 - would be enough for it to stop going in to limp mode with the manual tune?
maybe give that a shot for curiosity sake...
if no good, just run it with auto enabled and those other changes (even though youre not using a zf6) and it should be sweet.
howd you go with this in the end?
what happens if you select manual, disable the VID and disable torque module switch and max all ETC torque tables and max all cuttoff RPM values relative to speed or torque?
using BETA software
Use manual ecu settings, so.
Trans>general
automatic=disable
load switch=2
then go,
Speedo>Hardware
VSS Source=OSS (output speed sensor on transmissions)
These settings are for a BA not sure if FG has the same VSS source selection.
Just fit wheel speed sensor to one rear wheel and wire in using ABS module to convert from square wave to sign wave. Was told by all and sundry to just turn off VSS and will work, well it didn't and wont so went the way of wheel speed sensor etc and has work faultless for the last 2 years.
i havent had any dramas with the workarounds I mentioned.
def is possible to do it without wiring in a wheelspeed sensor etc
