    What do you guys do?

I always find it interesting to see what other people do in life...

So, what do you guys do to support your additictions?

    I'll start it off...

I'm a software developer / project manager. I write software packages that cost anywhere from $10,000 to $2,000,000. I design control systems for large ships and oil rigs. If you ever take a ride on the Staten Island Ferries (3 new ones, the Monarch, Molenari, or Spirit of America), you can thank me for the smooth ride . I travel the world supporting these systems as well, I'm due to go to Africa in the next month or so, Singapore, China, and Sweden sometime in the next year. I've got ongoing projects that I manage in Portland, Louisiana, Michigan.

How about you guys (or ladies)?

I work as a Touring Audio Engineer and Systems Tech...sometimes I also work as a Tour Manager as well..

basically I live in a Tour Bus...with a band or with the rest of the crew...
and I go from town to town setting up the PA/Sound System equipment for Concerts...
Somtimes I get to actually Make the band sound good..sometimes its my job to make the Equipment sound good and hand the keys over to some other moron and let him make it sound bad...
I've been doing it for about 14 years now....

I thought Steve worked at Dell Taco, isn't he the funny guy on the commercials?

Me, I do a lot of different things. My primary position is as a Design Engineer at B&M, which I now have been appointed Lead Engineer at McLeod. Out side of that I am the crew chief for my wife's addiction to speed ... she pilots the 9 second beast in my sig. Currently it is apart while we (yes her and I) are puttting in a temporary engine to continue racing. Next setup we will also build, but will go quicker. Then I also do tuning (duh!) on the side. Pretty much no time for anything else.

    Full time tuner.
My past life was as an electronics wonk at Edelbrock for 14 years. Hacking code, tuning, data acquisition, testing. Usual techie stuff.

I met Ken via the 454SS.com forum where we were comparing code snippits and told him about Keith's PCM hacking site a few years back.

Guess it was my fault... Sorry Keith & Chris! hehehehe

Yeah, we did. It blew the head gaskets at Irwindale and got water in the crankcase. When we took it apart, the pistons had hit the cylinder heads on the driver's side, that resulted in a bent exhaust valve (#3). Wonderful huh?

EC, always causing trouble. Hey, my buddy (Electronics Eng.) from AEM just started at Edelbrock ... a successor possibly.

More of a replacement - See below:

My supervisor, mentor, and all around good friend Doug Moody passed June 12th.

Way before I met him at Edelbrock, he ran an Alcohol Funny Car in the 60's & 70's in the northwest circuit & Canada. He had a crash at Ontario in 76 at the World Finals and was in a chair since then. That didn't stop him as he got an electronics degree & ran the Electronics Dept at Edelbrock for 20 years.

Doug took me in as family (as my closest relatives were 150 miles away) and was always available to chat about anything. I will truely miss the man.

    * Doug & I always referred to ourselves as the *Doug Club* with another *Doug* at Edelbrock.

I'm a Mechanical Engineer and OEM calibrator working on model year 2007-2010 stuff. In a past life I owned my own speed shop, but enjoy the lower stress corporate lifestyle. I still tune and train tuners on the side.

Sorry to hear that EC. I had heard about Doug, and it sounded like he was good man.

The pistons hitting the heads was the builder, as well as other mistakes I found as I tore the car apart. The head gasket blowing, I am not sure about yet, the car was not overheating at all. I am not sure I will find out what happened ... I do know one piston (#3) was very clean and shiny, unlike the others.

Yup, this time I am going to do it ... what is that old saying? I think I know, that you know who you think you know did it before, is correct. Did I say that right?

Wow, You all seem to work within the industry. I have just been around drag racing since I was born so I got the bug. When Im home I help run our family Embroidery business and do all of the custom design digitizing. When not at home I attend Radford University. One more year and I will have my B.A. in Accounting.
