Developers say something? Can I expect to extend the functionality in the next versions?

If you do a recording in drag race mode, or others that involve accelerating from a stop, the resulting session data should then show your 0-60 and 0-100 mph (or 0-100 and 0-160 km/h) times, in addition to 0-max speed, and of course your actual drag race length times and trap speeds.

And where to find these data?

And yet, when the phone is vertical, the video does not rotate during recording and is recorded sideways

Normally, there should be a Statistics section displayed at the top...

When this is not present, it indicates that the app was not able to calculate the acceleration statistics. That could be due to not having a good GPS signal at the start, or not being at a complete stop, but it should be a rare occurrence. Most likely, doing another drag race recording from a stop would show these statistics.

As for the video recording, this app intentionally does not support vertical videos / recording in "portrait" orientation... The image proportions unfortunately come out much too narrow to see the action in the majority of cases, our current data overlay graphics are designed for landscape / horizontal, and there were also a couple of other issues where supporting vertical would have imposed a compromise on the majority of our users. Going to the Camera Preview screen while the phone is in portrait orientation will say "Rotate to landscape orientation", the video should also appear sideways there, and the camera leveling indicator wont appear until you are in landscape orientation. That said, you can still send your vertical video to a computer and rotate it there; it just wont show up properly in our app, that's all.
