Any new tricks to optimizing advance on the street?

It seemed like the best way to optimize advance in the past was on a loaded dyno. I don't suppose there are any new tricks to doing this on the street through new features? I'm just looking for a PID that can be logged against a chart that will accurately go up and down to indicate the best timing for that cell. It doesn't have to be all in one scan, I'm okay with rinse & repeat.

experience and/or dyno torque/power alteration and avoiding det is the only way you'll find the best timing per cell.
