New 6l80 install

Neighbor of mine has a 2011 Silverado that the old trans was slipping. He ordered a new gm 6l80 and installed it. Now the pcm won?t communicate with the tcm. He called me to see if I could do anything with hptuners. I read the pcm and it shows 2 diff operating systems for the trans. Is there anything I can do or does it need to go to dealer for a reflash? I read something about swapping in the old tcm/valvebody might work. With a new trans would that even be recommended if he still has the old trans?

If you have the original trans tune you could try it I suppose. When I replaced my TEHCM I got a reman from Dorman they have a fob that will read the original cal before removing it and dump it back into the reman after the changeover.
