new hptuners suite freezes while logging vehicle

Updated to the new 4.0v. I did everything I know how to do. made sure my windows .net framework was up to date. this function worked perfectly on the old version and now for some reason it will not continue to log. it randomly freezes. then I can stop logging or disconnect the vehicle and the system window closes. I am not sure what else to do. this is my first tuning software/cable from you guys and I have been impressed up until this issue. which most likely is my fault but I need some help.
