    Hellcat timing tables = many?

I've been learning HPTuners the past few weeks and looking at the tune out of my stock Hellcat. I get there's a part throttle and wot spark table difference, but I see like 4-5 other spark tables for WOT so I'm curious when to use what?

    WOT - BASE
WOT VVT - LOCKPIN (aircharge is in mg instead of g like all the others?)
WOT Thermal - BASE (cat over temp?? but it's got more timing than lockpin)
    WOT Thermal - LOCKPIN
    MBT - BASE

Also, is there something I can think of a reference to the aircharge measurement? Does it correlate to boost somehow?

Sorry if these are noob questions, been googling without much luck.

WOT - Base is the table that is used most of the time. The other tables are used when certain conditions apply like if the car is operating in cat over temp mode.

WOT Thermal - This table is used when the car is in cat over temp protection. In a stock tune, this mode is triggered when exhaust gas temps reach a certain threshold. Refer to the Fuel > Temperature Control tab for a look at the parameters that controls this mode. There are tables elsewhere that do something when this mode is triggered, like FA enrichment and spark.

Lockpin - These tables are used when the cam is in lockpin position.

MBT - Hopefully you understand the concepts of MBT. If not, there's a bunch of good reading material out there that explains it better than I could in a post. With that said, this table acts like a limiter to prevent timing from advancing beyond what's defined in this table.

Aircharge is the calculated amount of air that is in the cylinder for each combustion event. It does correlate to boost/vacuum where 0g aircharge would theoretically be a perfect vacuum and at some point vacuum becomes boost. It may help to log the "Aircharge" channel in VCM Scanner to see for yourself.

Thanks for the info. Yep, I'm familiar with MBT so good there. I guess I expected to see the COT timing table to be something less than WOT Base, but in fact COT timing is quite a bit more, so that's strange to me, but it's also enrichening fueling so maybe that's why. Actually looking at all the timing tables, it seems the WOT BASE is the least aggressive by quite a bit with the major differences being low in the RPM range. Up high they're all closer but WOT BASE becomes the more aggressive. I need to read up on what lockpin is, guessing it's the max advance of the VVT cam.

Got it on aircharge, I had been data logging that value and have added it to the gauge screen so I can correlate it with other variables.

Speedy they increase the afr a lot with over temp protection hence the extra timing. Most if not all get rid of the over temp stuff.

Air charge is calculated and even the older cars with maf its calculated off maps.

If I want to adjust for race gas etc, should both base and lockpin be adjusted to be the same or ?

Sorry to thread Jack, but I'd like to say thank you to Speedy, your channel & site have helped me tremendously with my 13 Challenger. You are a get addition to the Mopar community. I'm sure you will get the Hellcat tuning figured out. This is a great source of information on this site.

I make them all the same regardless. That way you don't have to worry about the PCM doing some strange stuff and reference a table with excessive timing.

When I make mbt equal to the other tables I get a slight delay in the throttle response at wot. When I put it back to stock all is well. The rest of the tables I have equal to each other.
