    Preventing money shift in TU/TD

    2013 Caprice. E38/T43. Installed a shift box in it. It's working well. My question is, what table if any can you lock out certain downshifts to prevent a manual mode downshift from say 4th to 1st at 1,000,000 RPMs. It's my son's car and I want to make sure the car is protected against overzealous downshift presses. I see some tables but none of them "appear" to do what I'm after. Unless there's logic knowing that a 2>1 downshift request at 50 MPH isn't allowed and just locks it out since my 1st gear WOT 1>2 shift is south of 40 MPH. Or should I copy my shift schedule from the other tables minus some MPH?

    You mean a tap shift switch box?

    If yes, the protection is built in. The mph down shift inhibit values are in the background tables.

    Yeah. So you're saying that my down shift tables are being crosschecked with live MPH and that's how it prevents an issue.

    The downshift lock out tables are hidden. The vss settings must be correct. Try it out, do 4000rpm in 3rd and initiate a downshift to 2nd. It won't do it.

    In my cal the values for the TUTD shift lock outs are (km/h):
    2->1 38
    3->2 68
    4->3 120
    5->4 167
    6->5 237

    This won't do it? It was set to 3,000 rpm on my 2012 Tahoe, set at 5,500 rpm on the '15 tahoe..
    Have not tested..
