VVT Intake Cam Des Angle and Angle

If the Intake Cam Des Angle and the Intake Cam Angle are not the same, then somethings wrong, right?

I found my 2009 5.3 Silverado to have its Variable Camshaft>General;Camshafts set to "none" and no activity when logging the des angle or angle channels. Then I changed from none" to "one" and the Camshaft Des Angle started reading values 0-22ish but the Camshaft Angle channel always stays at 0. There is no check engine light.

I dont think my camshaft is moving. What do you think?

    Thanks!
    Robert

2009 didn't have VVT yet, it was added in for the 2010 model year engines.

If the factory calibration showed none for the camshafts, it was not equipped with it.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

I didn't want to accept that was a possibility

I had the incorrect impression that the VVT started in 2009.

    Thanks for the heads up!

you can check front timing cover behind the water pump if it is flat then you dont have VVT.
