    Fg key and pats HELP

Hey guys done a 5spd to zf conversion the donor car had no keys so we are using to existing 5spd keys...

so we need to program new keys to suit the 6spd ecu!

Seeing tho fg?s ain?t like ba bf?s is there any other way keys can be linked apart from IDS?!?!!

    is this a option

Disable pats and car will run?

If so apart from the theft risk factor what negative issues would this cause?

you're more pairing the zf and and matching zf ecu/tune to the car, all the modules in the car need to have a matching vin and they all need to match the keys.
pretty much only ids, newer snapon tools etc can do it, but yes you can disable pats and the car will start and run as long as the ecu/tune matches that zf.
only negative is that the car cycles through around 8 codes everytime you turn the ignition on but you get used to it lol.

The ecu in the car now matches the zf and bcm all that was from the 6spd donor car only old thing left was the old keys and barrel hence wanting to disable pats

    Think there?s another issue tho

Dsc code comes up and the temp gauge goes straight to red hot so not sure what?s going on there ALSO when I read the file with hp it reads it but is BLANK no info loads up :/

When I select gather info it doesn?t it says no vin can be found

But if I put that ecu in another car it reads it and loads up the file no problems so now this conversion is becoming a nightmare

    Back over it

    Car was a 5 speed

    We removed all looms

Both side looms from kick panels back and main loom from dash through engine bay to fuse box and back into dash

Fitted all mkll looms ecu Bem him zf

    On reds dsc flashes
    Temp gauge straight to Hot
    no start
Can?t read the ecu file (can read it) just doesn?t show anything

    Ok,

Replaced ecu bem key and barrel so there all matching apart from the zf

Done this to see if it would allow car to start

Question with a different zf not suiting the ecu will car still start?

lol jesus, youre a bit all over the place here...
theres quite a few changes between mk1 and mk2, doing a conversion like that is a nightmare.
did you change the cluster? mk2 has cluster pats, so its most likely not starting as hp doesnt have access to disable cluster pats yet, only pcmtec does.
it really would have been wayyyy easier to just get mk1 engine loom and maybe body loom if you cbf making the cpl changes in the loom and then getting a mk1 zf6 ecu paired to the box.
