    Question help, detect protocal failed- trying to read vehicle

    2003 hummer h2, purchased the mpvi 2, with 2 credits needed, trying to get it to read the vehicle and after it keeps getting to around 40% it says timed out error, detect protocal failed. Any advice??

    if you have a new windows it will happen, also check your cig lighter fuse maybe its blown, and your OBD will not have power. lastly look into the USB drivers with windows 10 its a pain

    My friends 2007 H2 was a pain too and it finally caused me to make a bad decision that ended up in a bricked PCM. But it was completely my fault.

    Pull the radio fuses, I think the navigation system helps cause this. I didn't find out for sure though.

    I ended up bench flashing the PCM and I haven't tried with it in the vehicle again.
