    E92 and T87A

    I have read everything I can find on the T87A issues and process for sending them in to have them unlocked for tuning. My question is if all of that is required if you are not trying to change the transmission tune? I am swapping in an L86 engine and 8 speed Trans from a 2017 donor. I'm fine with the stock Trans tuning unless the unlock is required for basic read/write to the engine ecu, etc. thanks for any help you can provide.

    You don't have to unlock the T87A unless you want to change the trans tune.

    @Randallkreed what did you ever find out about this? Seems I?m in the same situation. Were you able to program the T87a to the e92 ECM? I put an 8L90 from a 2018 6.2 into my 2016 5.3. I?m learned I need to swap the TCM to the T87a but now worried about integration with 2016 e92 ECM.
